The problem

A bedroom that looks like everyone else's

What it changes for you

Plain white and grey bedside tables are everywhere. This one brings texture and a bit of wit: two drawers faced in woven rattan, a black rounded frame with fine stud trim, and carved animal pulls, a pale horse on top and a dark leopard below. A thick walnut-tone slab finishes it and leaves room for a lamp and a book.

Perfect for…

  • Eclectic, vintage and collected interiors
  • Bedrooms that need one statement piece
  • Lovers of rattan and natural textures
  • Anyone who wants drawers rather than open shelves
Woven rattan drawer fronts

01

Woven rattan drawer fronts

Both drawers are faced with woven rattan, framed in black and edged with a line of fine studs. The open weave brings warmth and texture to a dark piece of furniture.

Against the black body, the natural cane stands out clearly without making the cabinet look busy or heavy. Each panel is framed so the weave stays protected.

A horse and a leopard

02

A horse and a leopard

Each drawer has a carved animal pull with a round black knob: a pale horse on top and a dark leopard below. You simply grip the knob to open the drawer.

It is the kind of detail that makes a bedroom feel personal and collected rather than ordered from a catalogue. Both pulls are fixed to the drawer fronts.

A thick walnut-tone top

03

A thick walnut-tone top

A generous slab with rounded edges sits on the black body, with room for a lamp, a book and a glass of water. The warm wood tone balances the black and the rattan.

Below, a recessed black plinth keeps the cabinet close to the floor, with no legs to knock into at night. It brings warmth to a dark iron or wooden bed.
