The problem

Records and magazines piled on the floor

What it changes for you

Records, magazines and the books you are halfway through rarely have a home in the bedroom: they end up in a pile beside the bed. This cabinet files them upright in three open slots and puts one favourite on display behind the front panel, while the top stays free for a lamp and a cup of tea.

Perfect for…

  • Vinyl lovers who want their records close at hand
  • Readers who keep a stack of magazines by the bed
  • Vintage, mid-century and Bauhaus-inspired interiors
  • Anyone who prefers open, easy-reach storage to drawers
A record on show, the rest in order

01

A record on show, the rest in order

The left half of the front is a flat wooden panel with a shallow ledge along its base: lean a record sleeve, a magazine or a book against it and it becomes a display.

Beside it, two thin dividers form three upright slots, so records and magazines stand on edge and can be flicked through without pulling out a pile.

Cherry wood on chrome

Cherry wood on chrome

The box is made in a warm cherry-tone wood whose grain runs across every face, and the corners meet in dovetail-style finger joints that are left on show.

Two polished chrome tubes, one on each side, lift the cabinet clear of the floor and end in small round caps at the top: a retro outline that stays light.

At home by the bed or the sofa

03

At home by the bed or the sofa

The open front and long chrome legs keep the piece airy, so it sits as easily beside a bed as next to a reading chair or at the end of a sofa.

The top stays clear for a lamp, a cup and the book of the moment. The dimensions were not supplied, so measure your space and allow room for the legs.
