The problem

New furniture that feels cold and flat

What it changes for you

Brand-new furniture can feel flat in a room full of linen and old floorboards. This bedside table already looks lived-in: weathered wood with knots and nail-head details, two drawers with a woven herringbone texture and slim black handles. It brings warmth at once, and the two drawers keep the bedside clear.

Perfect for…

  • Rustic, farmhouse and cottage bedrooms
  • Rooms with old floorboards, linen and natural textures
  • Anyone who likes a weathered, lived-in look
  • Two-drawer storage for the night-time essentials
Herringbone texture on every drawer

01

Herringbone texture on every drawer

Each drawer front frames an inset panel carved in a fine herringbone pattern. It catches the light like woven cane and gives the wood real depth.

A slim black bar handle crosses the centre of each drawer, easy to grip and a crisp contrast with the warm brown. The handles are set level on both drawers for a neat, orderly front.

Weathered wood with character

02

Weathered wood with character

The wood is finished to look worn and lived-in: grain, knots and small nail-head details remain visible on the top, the sides and the base.

No two corners look quite the same, which is exactly what makes it feel like a piece you inherited. It sits naturally with linen bedding, jute rugs and old floorboards.

Raised on four splayed legs

03

Raised on four splayed legs

Four tapered wooden legs, slightly splayed, lift the cabinet off the floor and keep it light, even beside a heavy wooden bed.

The space underneath makes cleaning easy, and the two drawers open fully for the charger, glasses and books. The moulded base above the legs gives the cabinet a finished, traditional outline.
